Biography
Mark “Cage” is currently resident DJ and co-promoter for two of New York City's premiere monthly dark music parties: Procession (est. 2015) and Svmmon (est. 2017). He has also guest DJ'd at such notable venues and club nights as: Slimelight (London), Dream Baby Dream (Berlin), Synthicide (New York), Red Party (New York), and Monster Queen (London), amongst many others. Cage has produced remixes for: Necrø, Ang!e (Dead Cool), Die Sexual, Neila Invo, Cold Choir, Ohne Nomen, Rue Oberkampf, ExHyena, Echoberyl, Wumpscut, and Cult of Alia - with several being playlisted on key genre mix shows such as Communion After Dark and by DJs worldwide. He also mixed and produced the 2023 Ash Code single, “Tear You Down”. He is currently working on his industrial/dark techno project, ∅vx with releases expected in 2026. Cage is also a live member of LA-based, post-punk darkwave act, Blood Handsome - having performed on tour and at various festivals in the US, the UK, and Europe since 2023. He also guest performed with Echoberyl at Monster Queen (London). Cage also tour manages and PA's for: Ash Code - Obsidian Echoes Festival, DE (2025), USA Tour (2023), Wave-Gotik-Treffen, DE (2023), Cold Hearted Festival, DE (2022).
Originally from the UK, he has been a regular DJ fixture in the New York City darkwave scene since the 90's and has DJ'd in: the USA, Canada, the UK, and Germany as well as performing in various darkwave acts both in the US and Europe (having also performed at Wave-Gotik-Treffen in 2005). Cage was also a staff writer for Industrial Nation magazine and worked with several alternative record labels from the early 90's through the 2000's, including: Rough Trade, 4AD, Mute, and Nothing.
